Scuba Certification

NAUI Scuba Certification

Getting scuba certified has never been easier. Scuba certification consists of some home study, class room instruction, and the fun part, in the water! At Divers Cove, our goal is to make this as fun, and stress free as possible. Our prices are direct, up front and have no hidden fees or surprises. All classes includes all of your books, rental gear, instructor fees, air fills, pool fees, RDP, certification card and any other applicable student materials.
Please take the time to compare our prices against other certification programs. You will find many dive shops offering certification for around $170. What they don't clearly explain to you is that on top of the $170 you are responsible for purchasing all of your materials, paying for your pool time, and renting all of your gear and some are even charging for air fills. We don't believe in this practice. We want to be 100% honest and upfront with you, and ensure there are no surprises once you enroll in a scuba certification class. Please see the certification cost comparison chart below for more info to better understand what a $170 certification price really means.

Divers Cove encourages you to shop around and compare prices. When you are asking dive shops about their certification program, please be sure to have them tell you exactly what their certification package includes, and be sure to have them tell you what it does not include. As you can see in the above table, we illustrate what it means when another shop offers scuba certification for a lessor price. We take pride in offering a flat price, with no surprises. No need to buy your materials, or rent your gear. At Divers Cove, there are no hidden fees, materials to buy, or gear to rent.

Why NAUI?

NAUI is the world's most respected and largest non-profit diver certifying organization in the world. Established in 1959 and organized solely to support and promote Dive Safety Through Education, NAUI continues as the recognized leader in innovative education.

Several divers have asked why our shop dropped the PADI Five Star IDC Center and accepted NAUI. I want to explain in brief with a couple of reasons. First, let me say that we are not a PADI center. It is well known in the industry that NAUI is a superior organization to PADI, and our goal is to provide you with only the best. PADI training is a dime a dozen. NAUI training is the best in the industry.

Second, I discovered that the State of California Parks and Recreation trains only NAUI; law enforcement officers are trained NAUI; NASA prefers NAUI above all others; California State University Davis and other upper educational systems prefer NAUI. So it made great business sense to offer our customers, both individuals and organizations alike the best training possible with the least amount of difficulty.
